How it all started?
Cadence. In the year of the 2020 pandemic, following a video series (15 videos) created with the phone in 9:16 format, the videographer Cătalin Mihai Dumitrașcu, alias cemedeul, supported by the compassion and involvement of the co-founders Georgiana Bîrdan and Georgiana Vornicu, laid the foundations of some projects with the aim to have a better success rate than what is or is not currently applied at national level.

Memorable stories about unity and kindness have their beginnings in passion and in the connection to the pulse of the city.
Intercalat changes the less happy homeless people’s experiences in long-term vibrations.
The journey of Intercalat has begun spontaneously from the simple, pure wish of cemedeul, one of the association’s founders, to document the homeless people’s lives. The fascination of being with people that have an impressive baggage of stories, of getting to know them closely on the streets of Bucharest was shared on various social platforms #subcerulliber.
We believe in connections and involvement, so time was the currency that had to be paid. The context somehow made the team to become a whole in 6 months time and to be tested weekly.
September came with thoughts of outlining the street stories, therefore the first series was born – 10 documented stories that gathered over 800,000 views (Tudor, Ozon, Marius, George, Eugen, Rodica, Alexandru, Mihai, Gabriel, Florentina), to find out what they really need and do everything we can to materialize real solutions to these needs.
Behind homeless people are hidden sad stories, disappointments, deadlocks, addictions, traumas, just like in the life of each of us.
Driven by the power to help, in difficult times, we carried out activities in Colțea Park, on Thursdays. We created mini projects to help socially disadvantaged people (a warm meal and clothes to protect them in cold weather). As the good deeds spread wonderfully, our activities led a lot of other people to get involved, so we received logistical and financial help, clothes and a helping hand from the HoReCa industry with tasty food, as well as the most valuable contribution from the volunteers – their time. Our ideal is not only to offer them short-term help, but to come up with a real solution for a healthy integration into society from all points of view: personal, emotional and professional counseling.
From a story about empathy, led by a group of friends and volunteers, we managed to easily grow and become what is today called Intercalat. We have people with different abilities, people interleaved with the same purpose: involvement.
You can be involved too! You can be Intercalat! (eng = interleaved)
But the story doesn’t end here. On the contrary, it has only just begun.
What do we do?
We identify socially disadvantaged people and we listen to them. You can also visit our Romanian site.
We are here for them.
Alexandru. One of the homeless people who helped us all this time from the inside. Find out his story in this YouTube video.

When I found out about #subcerulliber, I didn't think that this initiative would captivate me too much. I thought I would only donate some clothes once and that would be it. But I immediately appreciated the energy of the people and the cause and I came to almost all their actions.

I really like the idea and I would like to get involved especially since my friends told me it's great.

I stumbled upon Intercalat. I stayed with them because they do an extraordinary work for people less fortunate than us and, personally, every time I load myself with good vibes.
